DIY Bath Bombs WITHOUT Citric Acid Powder

Follow this easy step by step tutorial to make your own bath bombs without citric acid powder or cream of tartar. All you need is lemon juice!

Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup baking soda
  • 1/2 tbsp coconut oil
  • 2 to 3 tbsp lemon juice
  • a spray bottle
  • essential oils optional
  • decorations or coloring optional

Instructions

  1. Pour 1/2 cup of baking soda in a bowl. Add half a tablespoon of coconut oil. Mix with a spoon until well combined.

  2. Add a few drops of essential oils. Stir well after each drop.

  3. Pour 2 to 3 tablespoons of lemon juice in a spray bottle.
  4. Carefully spray the mixture stirring well between each spritz of lemon juice. You don’t want the mixture to start fizzing in the bowl!
  5. Check to see if the mixture clumps together. Make sure the mixture is wet.

  6. Scoop 1 tablespoon of the mixture in your mold and press down firmly with your fingers. Keep adding more until your mold is filled, pressing the mixture down as you go.
  7. Set the bath bombs aside and give them time to dry. Pop them out of their molds once they’re completely dry.
