You only need 2 kitchen ingredients! Get rid of Keratosis Pilaris and cellulite at the same time with this cheap and effective DIY Body Scrub. Doesn’t sound bad, ay?
You either came here to fight KP (those ugly chicken bumps on your arms) or to fight cellulite.
Or maybe you’re one of those lucky Bees that got both.
If it’s cellulite you’re battling, look no further. All you need is this simple scrub. Coffee and coconut oil have all the right properties to smooth out your bubble butt.
If it was the word Keratosis Pilaris (or chicken bumps) that made you click on this post, I know you’ve had a hell of a ride so far. I’ve had KP for as long as I can remember.
Even though they say 1 out of 2 people has KP, you always feel like you’re the only one.
With every new prescription my dermatologist gave me, she would say “it’ll get beter over time, you’ll grow out of it”. Maybe I’m just more of a drama queen than my teenage self, but I feel like it only got worse.
Until I found this lifesaving remedy!
*dramatic pause*
Let me start by saying there isn’t 1 miracle solution for KP. Ok, STOP. don’t click away just yet. It just makes what I’m about to say sound waaay more exciting. There are a 1.000 WAYS to treat KP. There is one thing they all have in common though (apart from the fact that I have tried them all).
You wanna know what that Ultimate Secret to get rid of KP is?
Exfoliate & Moisturize
Yep, it’s as simple as that. We’ll continue right after you stopped face palming yourself, like I did.
There are a lot of DIY and at-home methods out there, but they are pretty much all based on the same principle. I have tried aaaallll of them, from apple cider vinegar to dandruff shampoo. It all comes down to finding that 1 remedy that works for you.
I use coffee in my all-time favorite face scrub. For some reason my skin loves coffee. (Almost as much as my morning mood does). It’s exfoliating but not too harsh at the same time. After using what was left on my body, I noticed how soft my skin felt. My arms looked visibly less red and were smoother than ever!
Now I decided it was time to dedicate a ‘scrub in a jar’-recipe especially for my body.
Hopefully it’s your magic KP eraser too!
What you’ll need:
- 1 cup of ground coffee
- 3/4 cup coconut oil
Or try these variations:
My personal favorite recipe:
- 1 cup of ground coffee
- 2/4 cup of coconut oil
- 1/4 cup of (raw) honey
Or if the smell of coffee is too strong for you:
- 1/2 cup of sugar
- 1/2 cup of ground coffee
- 2/4 cup of coconut oil
- 1/4 cup of honey
Always use dry coffee grounds for these recipes.
Melt your coconut oil in a double boiler, in a metal spoon over a candle or in 10 sec intervals in the microwave.
Stir all of your ingredients together in a bowl. This is the time to add your honey and sugar if you’re using it.
I dare you not to smell it once.
Told you.
I dry body brush my body with a dry body brush before I take a shower. I’ve seen these at The Body Shop, but you can also usually find them at your local health / nature store and, as always, online.
While I let my conditioner sit, I scrub my arms and legs with this gorgeous scrub. The coconut oil leaves a lovely moisturizing layer on your body. If you don’t like it, you can use your shower gel after instead of before.
Go ahead, try this luxurious body scrub tonight. It helps to get rid of the appearance of cellulite, it will leave your skin soft as butter and it might be your miracle-worker against KP.
Enjoy your softest skin yet !
If you liked this, don’t forget to put a pin on it ! 😉 Thanks!
