I’ve gotten really into making my own bath bombs lately. Having ordered a whole packet of citric acid might have something to do with that.
They make the perfect party favors or Holiday gift. Or keep them all for yourself. Muhaha!
What you’ll need:
- 1/2 cup baking soda
- 1/4 cup citric acid
- 1/4 cup cornstarch – I used arrowroot powder
- 1/4 cup coarse and fine sea salt
- 1 tbsp. oil
Optional:
- 1 tbsp. arame sea weed
- blue food coloring
- 15 drops of essential oil
Put all your dry ingredients together in a glass bowl.
Slowly add 1 tablespoon of oil, drop by drop.
Mix all ingredients well with a spoon between each drop.
Now it’s time to add your essential oils.
Mix well between each drop to keep it from fizzing.
For the blue, put a couple of tablespoons in a separate bowl.
Add 1 drop of liquid blue food coloring and stir it all together. Keep adding drops until you like the color. Be careful though, since your food coloring is water based, it might start to fizz!
I crunched up the dry sea weed and added it to the blue mixture.
Take a bit of the mixture in your hand and squeeze to make it clump together.
Fill up your mold 1 clump at a time with the mixture. Press it down firmly between each handful. Once 1 half is almost full, fill up the rest with the blue. Do the same for the other half. Now press them together. With the sea weed you won’t be able to fully close them. I wrapped an elastic around them.
I let mine sit in the mold overnight and they fell right out the next morning!

Wow! these bath bombs look so amazing. I am definitely going to make them. I use Himalayan bath salt and really like it, so I am thinking about using it instead of Epsom salt. I have heard so much about Himalayan salt benefits for the skin and body. I have even bought a salt lamp as well which is also very good. You can visit the given website of ittefaqco to know more about Himalayan salt.
