I have a confession to make.
I own one pair of expensive jeans. And I never wear them. There, I said it.
What can I say, they are boot-cut. And once I got over the fear of the ‘carrot jeans’ in high school, I never ever wanted anything else ever again.
Still, I know it’s a fashion crime. So I cut the boot cut off, and upcycled them to make even Tommy proud!
Step 1: How to properly cut jeans into shorts
I also show it in this You Tube video
Put on your jeans and decide how high you want your shorts to be. Draw a line with a pen or pencil. Take them off and cut one side off. Lay both legs on top of each other and cut the other side off.
If you’re going to hem them, leave an extra 1/2 inch seam. If you want to let them fray, keep in mind that they’ll end up a lil’ shorter. As always, you can take more off, you can never add more!
I’ve made a short You Tube tutorial on how to make these cute Lace and Polka Dot shorts:
Don’t forget to thumbs up and subscribe if you liked it! 🙂
And here’s a little cheat sheet I made on how to make the perfect polka dot pattern:
That’s it.
